My Diary

What is Powerlifting?

What is Powerlifting?

Powerlifting is a strength sport. Competitors attempt to lift the heaviest weights as they can be for single repetition in the squat, bench press, and deadlift. And each lifters have their own specific division that includes their weight class, age group, gender, and level of their experience.

In the powerlifting meet, there are three judges to critique the powerlifters performance whether the lift is white light “good’ or red light “bad”. Lifters have three attempts on each lifts for the total of nine lifts. At the end of the meet, awards are presented to the lifters who have the highest numbers on squat, bench press, and deadlift within their division. The one with the highest total on their division is considered the best lifter.

That’s it for this week guys. If you find this post helpful please don’t forget to like and share it!
